1) Travel Ban: the borders FINALLY reopen on November 8 for the entire Schengen area.
Anyone on an E-2 investor visa who has hesitated to travel until now for fear of not being able to return without having to go through third countries to do a quarantine can now do so. However, pay attention to the obligations in terms of vaccination. People vaccinated with products recognized by the FDA (Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson) and those recognized by the WHO (such as AstraZeneca) will be accepted in the United States. Persons vaccinated with doses of "mixed" vaccines will also be accepted. To date, the mandate for the vaccine only concerns those aged 18 and over. In addition to the vaccine, a PCR or antigen test of less than 72 hours is required to enter the United States.

Some of my clients doubted the reality of this lottery. For those who want to learn more, the Diversity Immigrant Visa program, also known as the Green Card Lottery, is a United States government lottery program to receive a United States Permanent Resident Card. The 1990 Immigration Act established the current program.
The lottery is administered by the State Department It makes available 55,000 immigrant visas annually and aims to diversify the immigrant population in the United States, by selecting applicants from countries with low numbers of immigrants in the previous five years. Around 13 million people applied for the lottery in 2020. (Wikipedia). Be careful! Many deceptive agencies charge contestants a fee or falsely claim to increase their odds of winning, but in fact, the only way to enter the lottery is to complete the registration form directly on the State Department website (Link below)
Since 2005, there has been talks of ending this lottery but for the moment, nothing has been confirmed.

3) E-2 investor visa: bad news: the waiting times for appointments at the US consulate in France for E-2 visa applications continue to be extremely long, several months, 9 or even 12 months according to our lawyers. In Belgium, the processing time is approximately 3 months. These processing times change all the time. Please contact our immigration attorney to confirm.
4) Here is a last softer subject: if you are about to come to the USA, start to understand the traditions. We just finished Halloween: everyone was waiting for a return to this tradition which makes children happy, but also parents and grandparents who are impatiently waiting for children to come and get their candies or sometimes gifts! !
